The global wine industry is a significant economic sector, with revenues estimated at approximately $338 billion in 2024. According to current forecasts, the industry is expected to grow by a total of 12.2% over the next five years (2024–2029), reaching around $380 billion. This growth trajectory highlights wine’s enduring appeal and its role in the global economy.
In Georgia, wine is an integral part of the country’s culture and is closely tied to our rich traditions. The uniqueness of Georgian wine is reflected in its growing exports and the development of wine tourism. Beyond being a symbol of national identity, wine also plays an important economic role. Over 1,100 business entities are involved in wine production in Georgia, with a combined turnover exceeding 1 billion GEL as of 2023. In 2024, grape sales generated 420 million GEL in income for 22,000 grape-growing farmers.
