Gazelle Finance

The project implied market research on the availability of IT professionals in the Georgian market.

This project was financed by Gazelle Finance, a private equity fund manager based in the South Caucasus that invests in high-growth companies in countries in Eastern Europe. Gazelle Finance, with the support of its investors, provides direct payments for market research, business plan, financial viability, market entry studies, business advisory/legal assistance, expert advice, etc., to a select group of Ukrainian companies and their employees, who have been forced to relocate or disperse across the region.

Within the framework of the project, our team prepared an overview of the sector, including a review of active entities in the IT sector.

Market research provided a detailed analysis of wages in the sector. Aside from the official data, our team gathered detailed information about current wages of up to 30 specialties at various experience levels (junior, middle, and senior) through primary research. This data was complemented with the average rates of freelance professionals from Georgia.

Special attention was given to estimating and analyzing existing human capital in the IT sector. The estimations included the projection of future university graduates and the possibilities of training, relocating, or headhunting professionals. In addition, the report included valuable insights from major universities on the latest and future trends in IT-related degree programs and shifts in students’ preferences.

The market research also covered employment terms in Georgia. This part reviewed general employment terms in Georgia regulated by the Labor Code and existing practices of active businesses in the sector.

In the end, the report provided information on the process of starting a business in the IT sector, legal forms suitable for this type of activity, and relevant special tax statuses providing the possibility to reduce taxes.

In addition, the report also included a review of co-working spaces in Georgia as an alternative to having the office, as well as the profiles of major competitors on the market.
